2001 St. Jakobi

Shiraz

“St. Jakobi” Lutheran church sits on the corner of Lyndoch Valley and Kreig Roads, along side of our family vineyard at Lyndoch in the Barossa Valley. It has been in this Church where my great grandparents, grandparents, parents and now Brenda and myself have all been married.

The Shiraz vines on our family vineyard planted in 1975 are consistent year after year in providing grapes with the rich spicy, plum and chocolate like characters that we find in both the St. Jakobi and Oscar Semmler Shiraz.

This, the 2001 is the fourth release of the “St Jakobi” Shiraz, and is a wine with similar big, full, rich characters as the first produced in 1998. There are rich mouth filling dark plum and black cherry fruit flavours, with support of vanillin and spicy oak, giving a finish of soft drying tannin.
