2000 Oscar Semmler

Reserve Shiraz

“Oscar Semmler” is a special selection of Shiraz grapes chosen from our vineyard planted in 1975. The grapes are harvested at optimum maturity, and the must fermented warm for 6 days, before transferring to New and older French & American Oak Hogsheads to complete fermentation.

The wine is then matured in these oak hogsheads for 24 months. Only the most outstanding barrels are chosen for this blend. Just 300 dozen bottles of the 2000 Oscar Semmler Shiraz were produced.

Again, as with the 98 & 99 Oscar the 2000 has big full flavours of plum and red berry fruit and also shows a sweet fruit mid palate concentration. The oak characters give the fruit support and the wine finishes with big, but soft drying tannin.
