“As well as giving answers to inquisitive children, the book has proved a hit with adults who say the story has taught some secrets on how wine is made.”

“He [Wayne Dutschke] and his mate [Paul Cassidy] have just released a winner. Not to mention one happy little girl who thinks it’s neat that her Dad has purple hands to match his purple feet.’

My Dad Has Purple Hands is a story covering the steps of winemaking from vineyard to bottle. All seen through the eyes of a little girl who is growing up on a property with vineyard, a small winery and a Dad who comes home each night with purple hands.
Written by Wayne Dutschke (winemaker & owner, Dutschke Wines) and illustrated by Paul “Pablo” Cassidy (great mate & graphic designer extraordinaire), it is three years in the making after Wayne’s mother-in-law suggested he write a book about a kid whose Dad is a winemaker. We hope you and your kids enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed making it!
Cheers!
